Ivy M. Alexander, PhD, C.ANP, is Associate Professor at Yale University School of Nursing and Director of Adult, Family, Gerontological, and Women’s Health Primary Care Specialty. She is also a clinician in Yale University Health Services’ Internal Medicine Department. Dr. Alexander earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University. She also received a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Northeastern University. She also holds a Post-Master’s Certificate in Teaching and a PhD from the University of Connecticut. Since 1992, she has been a nurse practitioner in the field of internal medicine with a special focus on women’s healthcare. Dr. Alexander is a published author of numerous articles on women’s health. She is also active in many state and national organizations and is frequently invited to speak at national meetings. She is currently focusing her research on midlife and menopause issues. Dr. Alexander resides in Connecticut with Ray, her husband and Lauren, their daughter and their two dogs, two cats, and two dogs. For many years, she was a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Waltham office of John R. Craig, MD. She also has experience working with families and children in hospitals, ambulatory clinics, and long-term health care. Ms. Knight is a health writer since 1997. She was also a contributor to Nursing Spectrum for six year. Her articles have been published online, in magazines and in specialty publications. Ms. Knight is a Mount Holyoke College graduate with a bachelor’s in political science and a master’s from Yale University School of Nursing.
