Devdutt Pattanaik, an Indian author, has created a pocket-sized guidebook about Hindu mythology. Myth = Mithya: Decoding Hindu Mythology is a brilliantly designed story that is based on Shiva or Shankara. This book also reveals the code for the Phallic Symbol, and shows the story of the man who was a female and other queer stories from Hindu lore. A clear and provocative introduction is included in the story. Ancient Hindu seers called myth mithya. Pattanaik explained that it would seem arrogant to assume that ancients had experienced “virgin births,” flying horses, talking snakes, gods with six heads, and demons having eight arms. These are symbolic representations of truths that must be communicated. These concepts are inspired by revolutionary art and the establishment of empires. The book can be divided into three sections, Vishnu–Lakshmi, Shiva-Shakti, and Brahma-Saraswati. These gods and goddesses are presented in beautiful prose.
