This is a translation of Pratyabhijnahrdayam. I.K. is the most familiar to me. Taimni: The Secret of Self-Realization. Because of its organization, this book is more difficult to read. The majority of the explanation material is located in the endnotes at book’s back, so it can be difficult to read. In the footnotes, the author mocks a translation done by a white man who seems to have misunderstood the text. The majority of the explanations for each sutra are given in the main text. These translations are from other Indian writings which relate to each sutra. This allows for a wider view of Indian literature. Singh’s work is much more technical than that of Taimni. Singh goes into greater detail about many concepts in Kashmir Shavism. Taimni uses broader brush strokes and tends to use a smaller range of colors. It will take many readings and serious efforts to remember the concepts in order to fully grasp the material. Although there are similarities between Singh and Taimni’s interpretations, Singh is clearly more technical. This book is great for anyone who wants to compare translations, or a deeper understanding of the technical concepts in Kashmir Shavism. Taimni’s Secret of Self-realization is a great book to start with if you’re new to these concepts. It’s much easier to grasp. By Donald J. DEGRACIA, July 12, 2009. The 20 aphorisms in the Pratyabhijnahrdayam have been described as the most powerful, intoxicating and profound, profound, lucid. lucid. liberating, expanding, amazing collection ever assembled. They are not all accessible to everyone, so I will include one here. Sutra 1: The Absolute Chiti (Universal power), of its own free will, is the cause for the Siddhi. Commentary: The Universe is created only when Chiti (the ultimate consciousness-power) enters into play. This powerful Sutra gives me thrills every time I read it. Others, however, don’t get the same reaction. If you find this sutra thrilling, you can buy it and treasure it as much as I do. By Amazon Customer, March 7, 2007. It is crucial that the translator of spiritual classics be either a great or serious practitioner who has regular access a great Swami. He claims that he was guided by Swami Laxmanjoo, a prominent modern luminary in his lineage, and his Guru. It is essential that there be a spiritual system, or a way of looking at all creation, that is helpful or at the very least helps you focus on the divine. Although the book is true to its core, it does not mean that every word must be true. An amazing piece of music might have a story that is partly true or entirely fiction but still allow you to feel the message. This book contains great commentary on the original Pratyabhijnahrdayam. Because it provides some understanding, this book is great. The mind must be transcended eventually, but it is much easier to do this if you have some spiritual understanding. Most spiritual traditions are very limited in comparison to this book. This book can be used as a spiritual practice like chanting, yoga, and meditating. Beats shopping. This book is not for everyone. It requires more attention than cheap entertainment. Spirituality is worth the effort. This is a classic. Each library should own one. Buy one, and lend it to someone who is able to get lost in spiritual teachings. This will allow you to be of service to others. By chris, April 22, 2013,
