Laugaksi Bhaskarana, the author, is probably from the South. He was Flourished between the 14th and 15th centuries. The text was written for beginners. It is simple and concise, and can be used to solve difficult problems. This work is popular among both beginners and scholars, and can be used as a guide to Purva Mimamsa. The full name of the wok as given by the author in the colophon is Purvamimamsarthasamgraha which means a compendium dealing with the topics of Purva Mimamsa. This edition includes the Sanskrit text in Devanagari script, as well as translation into English by Karmarkar and Professor Gajendragadkar. It has been the most successful due to its merits. This reprint has a new feature that is very useful. It includes a very detailed and very helpful feature. Dr. Shiv Kumar added a very informative and detailed Introduction.
