Androgyny & Behavioural Adjustment
The present book entitled “Androgyny & Behavioral Adjustment” is based on empirical study. The book fulfils the needs of the students, counsellors and the researchers who are interested in empirical researches in this area of study. It will prove its importance to clinicians, counsellors, parents, teachers, educationists, researchers and the students of Psychology and other behavioral sciences.
The concept of androgyny proposes that, instead of conceiving masculinity and femininity as a duality, one should consider that any individual may have a balance of the both traits regardless of gender. A person having balance of both feminine and masculine traits is proved to be Superior over a person having either masculine and feminine traits alone because of its streng association with adjustability and psychological health. Androgynous person combine the traits and behaviours of both men and women and are reported to have sound health.
In this edition the latest concept of masculinity, femininity, androgyny, their theories, measurement, models along with gender classification of society, the link of androgyny with adjustment and mental health have been included here. Besides, recent Indian relevant studies have been included which gives exploratory and confirmatory proofs of the findings of this monograph.
