A Buddhist Manual of Psychological Ethics. Translation of the Abhidhammapitaka’s first book, Dhammasangani. This is the Abhidhammamapitaka’s method of studying the nature and behaviour of many states mental and material. These states are in agreement with the fundamental principles of anicca and dukkha, and can arise and disappear throughout the continuity of existence. Each book of the Abhidhamma Pitaka has its own matika. These have been discussed in Mohavicchedani, P.T.S. Edition 1961. According to some sources, this work was compiled at the request of his students by a Kassapa Thera. This text is classified in Burma under one of the nine “littlefinger manuals”. It was likely written in the Cola country in southern India in the early 13th century. It is an extremely valuable work because it summarises the entire Abhidhamma Pitaka book by book, starting with Dhammasa?gani and ending with Patthana. Pali Text Society Translation Series, No. 41
