This book is a comparison between the criticism of Buddhism as presented in the interpretations by Sankara, Madhva, and Ramanuja to sutras in the second section (adhyaya), of the Brahmasutras that deal with Buddhism’s reputation, and the actual positions taken by Buddhists in their texts. It is also attempted to compare the differing interpretations of these sutras by the commentators, according to the philosophy that each one takes. The book is divided in two parts. The introduction is the first. This brief introduction describes the Brahmasutras as text and summarizes the philosophical positions taken by the three commentators. The second section examines sutra by sutra the different interpretations of Buddhist sutras.
