Despite the widespread opposition to Tantricism, Tantric literature, Hindus are still enmeshed in this particular Tantra in their daily lives, customs, and usages, with all its attendant good and bad. This work examines the Tantras, and the Buddhist Tantras specifically. Its development and origins are traced by the author. He recounts the rise and development of Vajrayana, its origin and the Mantras and Tantras Buddhism has offered to the world. Together with descriptions of the Buddhist deities, and their pantheon, he explains the main tenets and aims, as well as the worship procedure.
