Hinduism and Ecology

The “World Religions and Ecology Series” books cover the beliefs, history, present-day attitudes, and contributions of each faith to the environment. These books include teachings and traditions, as well as environmental practice and how to respond to crisis. The books are divided into teachings and traditions. They cover core beliefs and ideas as they are found in the faith’s traditional teachings and main scriptures. The books also cover historical turning points in faith’s teachings on the environment. The books cover environmental practice and the ways of living resulting from the teachings in the first section, as well as their effect (positive and negative) on the environment. Responding to the crisis is the final section. It examines how faith is changing or reexamining its teachings and practices as a result of the ecological crisis. This section contains case studies that show how faith can be expressed in practical actions to preserve the environment. This study shows how Hinduism’s central theme is the preservation of the environment. It includes stories, examples, teachings, illustrations, interviews, and descriptions of current projects.
