This book attempts to reconstruct the Yogyakartasubjective ideallism and provides an in-depth critique of it by various schools of Indianrealism. Santaraksita, Kamalasila, and Vijnanavada are the foundations for the doctrine’s exposition. The criticisms and exposition of the doctrine by each eminent thinker are generally given separately. The majority of critics provide a fair and impartial account Vijnanavada, and help to clarify the idealist position. The controversy between subjective idealism in Indian thought and realism has been dealt with by the author. He attempted to provide a fair and complete account of the arguments that Indian realists use to prove the existence of the external world. The Yogacara subjective idealism was compared to the idealism of Berkeley, and the sensationalism and Hume. We briefly discussed the similarities and differences. One striking aspect of the book is the inclusion of parallel arguments from many contemporary realists. This is to show that the philosophical genius of one type of person is likely to move in the same direction, regardless of its soil.
