Gabriella Saab received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Mississippi State University. She now lives in Mobile, Alabama where she is a barre instructor. To learn more about the history and experiences of the people who lived there, she visited Warsaw and Auschwitz while researching The Last Checkmate. The Last Checkmate is her debut novel.

Maria plans to cause Fritzsch’s downfall by cleverly inducing his volatile nature before his superiors. Maria will only then have the chance to escape the fate that awaits her and see Fritzsch punished for his wickedness. Maria will only be able to bear Fritzsch and her past one last time.
