Although meditation is a popular topic, very few works have explored the meaning of meditation within the original traditions. Meditation Differently is a translation from a Tibetan work that compares and contrasts two main traditions of Buddhist meditation practice, the Mahamudra (and the rdzogschen) and the snying things version. The translation is complemented by a commentary by Dr. Guenther who is a leading scholar of Buddhism and modern thinking. This commentary provides a critical and hermeneutical analysis of key ideas in understanding being and experience. It also uses modern thinking developments to highlight the subtleties of Buddhist thinking.
