Nagarjuniana

The thirteen authentic works of Nagarjuna are dealt with by the author. The first six are mainly dialectical works such as Mulamadhyamakakarika, Sunyatasaptati, Vigrahavyavartani, Vaidalyaprakarana, Vyavaharasiddhi, Yuktisastika followed by the remaining seven which are chiefly didactic texts-Catuhstava, Ratnavali, Prafityasamutpadahrdaya-karika, Sutrasamuccaya, Bodhicitta-vivarana, Suhrllekha and Bodhisambhara (ka). He follows roughly the prescriptive distinction made between Yukti (ka) and Agama. It will be fascinating to track the influence of Nagarjuna’s writings on subsequent development within and outside of the Buddhist domain of Buddhist thinking.
