Advaita Vedanta refers to the non-dualistic school of vedanta that Samkara has primarily explained. This study aims to analyze the epistemological issues inherent to the Advaitavedanta theoryof the Knowing and known. It explains their two-tiered theory of knowledge from a phenomenalistic perspective, while also trying to understand the universal unity that triumphs over duality and division. Dharmaraja’s Vedanta Paribhasa with its commentary Paribhasa Prakasika is used for the analysis and interpretation. Gupta’s main focus is on the theory of perception of VP. This work also contains a translation of the perception chapter in the text of VP as well as a free reconstruction and gloss of the gloss provided by PP. The book also contains detailed critical notes that clarify some of the more complex ideas in VP or PP.
