[4][5] Thakur was an authority on a variety of subjects, including Kashmir Saivism[6][7]. He studied extensively at the Ishwar Asharam Swami Lakshmanjoo, where he translated Shaivite shastras. Trika Sastra is the name of the Saiva philosophy in Kashmir. It is the philosophy of the Trika Trika (or 1) para n highest (2) paraparan identity in different and (3) apara.n difference. There are three types of literature in the Trika system of Kashmir: (1) the Agama Sastra (2) the Spanda Sastra (3) and (3) the Pratyabhijna Sastra. Agama Sastra can be described as revelation by Siva. It contains both the principles as well as the practices of the system. The Siva Sutras were the most important Agama in the Trika system. The Siva Sutras can be described as a revealed book about Yoga. They are the supreme identity of each individual with the Divine. An English translation of Siva Sutras is available here. The abstract of each sutra also provides a wealth of information about the entire system of Saiva Yoga. An index and glossary of technical terms are included for your convenience. There are currently four commentaries on Siva Sutras: the Vimarsini commentary by Ksemaraja, the Siva–sutra–vrti by an anonymous author in prose and the Siva–sutra–varttikam written by Varadarajaa in verse. The Siva-Sutra-vrti is so similar to Vimarsini, it may be either a preliminary draft of Vimarsini or a later abstract. It is strongly believed that Ksemaraja was the Vrti’s author.
