The Inner Life

The talks that comprise this book, The Inner Life, were given to students by Leadbeater and Annie Besant. Annie Besant was his close friend and fellow clairvoyant. Leadbeater assumed his audience was well-versed in his expanded world view. To make this book understandable, it is necessary to outline some key features. Leadbeater did not create this expanded view of the world, but he added many details that were missing. His plan fits in with a long-standing tradition that has been around since prehistoric times. The history of truth has shown that it appears throughout the centuries, often being shared openly and governing a culture as in ancient Greece. Other times, it is kept secret from those who are interested. Although the principles may have been called different things and some aspects highlighted at different times, the core principle has remained the same throughout the centuries. This core understanding is known as the ancient wisdom and the occult philosophy.
