Tenzin Gyatso was a Tibetan citizen who was born in Amdo in Tibet in 1935. He was the Fourteenth Dalai Lama spiritual and temporal leader in Tibet. He has been the head of the Tibetan government in exile in Dharamsala since 1959 when China overthrew Tibet. He is a world-renowned spiritual teacher and tireless advocate for peace.
