Sri Ramanuja described the school of Vedanta as Visistadvaita in the classic Sri-Bhasya. These were developed by Sri Vedanta in his two philosophical treatises, Adhikarana-saravali and Tattva-mukta-kalapa. This is the scholarly work by Dr. S.M.S. Chari focuses on the Adhikarana Saravali. The many theories of Vedanta that are covered in the 156 Adhikaranas in the Vedanta–sutras are summarized and presented in a chronological order under five main headings: the doctrines of Brahman and Brahman as well as the doctrines of universe and Brahman and sadhana. The final chapter on General Evaluation is where Dr. Chari dispassionately discusses the divergent views of Samkara and Ramanuja on the most controversial theories of Vedanta. This book, along with other books by the author on Vedanta, would be invaluable in a deeper understanding of Visistadvaita and all its aspects.
