Vedic Yoga, an ancient system of integral Yoga created by the Vedic Rishis, is known as the Vedic Yoga. The life of the Spirit was a dedication by these Rishis to the pursuit of inner peace. They achieved this through their self-discipline and strength of will. Tapasya, or meditation concentration, was what they used to achieve their goals. They then turned this into a hidden language they called Mantra. These Rishis were the ones who revealed the secrets of the Vedas. The inner vision of the truth (rsyah mantradrastarah), and the inner audition of the truth (satyasrutah) were the Rishes. They had both profound spiritual and occult knowledge as well as complete inner wisdom.
The ideal and vision of the Rishis, and the Vedic system for Yoga, must be rediscovered today. It should be adapted to modern times and given a new form to suit the modern mind. This book sheds light on not only the ways of the ancient Rishis but also on the entire Rishi tradition, from ancient times to modern, including the roles of Ganapati Mui and Sri Aurobindo with whom the author has been in close contact for many decades.
