Social capital, Collectivism and Development

This book is based on the report of the research entitled Social Capital for Inclusive Development in a Collectivist Context supported by ICSSR New Delhi. It is a detailed theoretical and field study of social capital as a means for facilitating development. Social capital is polyonymous and has varied social implications in the western model of economic growth which accentuates the economic individualism. It is based on competition for achieving individual's goal. Thus, it negates the significant of development in which familial collectivism place a significant role.
