The book is an attempt to give an account of the Female Education in Modern Bihar. It contains five chapters, followed by conclusion and bibliography. The first chapter deals with a brief history of female education in India. The second chapter focuses on the role of non-government agencies in the development of female education in Bihar during the period 1900-1947. The third and fourth chapters hi light the role of government agencies in the growth of female education in Bihar from 1900-1947 and 1947-1966 respectively. The last chapter examines the progress of female education from 1966 1986. The book also analyses the provisions of the New Education Policy.
