It is said that united we stand and divided we fall. In other words unity means strength and division or disunity means weakness. Sometimes some persons join hands to solve some common problems and it means that they have decided to work in co-operation. A co-operative society or association works on some principles. It is based on the principle of equality and members behave with each other like friends for brothers. It is free from all sorts of narrow feelings and relations like caste, creed, colour, sect. capitalism, monopolism, poverty etc. There are many advantages of co-operation in life. The scope of co-operation has been widened in modem civilization. In almost every profession attempt is made to form co-operative society. In this book attempts have been made to study and reconstruct the co-operative movement in Bihar from 1904 to 1937 i.e. from the year in which Co-operative Credit Societies Act of 1904 was passed and up to the year when an attempt was made to reconstruct or rehabilitate the movement. The book is very useful for the students and teachers of Economics, Commerce and Business Management. It is also useful for people in general and social workers in particular Co-operative the only way for solving most of the problems of mankind.
