History of the Mahatma Gandhi's Satyagraha Movement ( In Bhagalpur Division of Bihar 1940-1941)
The Satyagraha Movement of 1940-41 forms one of the most striking landmarks in the annals of the national movement in India. For the ultimate goal of ridding the country of British domination Mahatma Gandhi launched upon his third great, the Individual Satyagraha Movement during the second World War. This little work is principally concentrated and highlighted the role and contribution as Satyagrahi of the leaders and other national workers of Bhagalpur Division then consisting of Bhagalpur, Monghyr, Purnea and Santal Parganas districts. The Satyagrahis of Bhagalpur Division had played highly significant and momentous role with great discipline and utmost dignity in the glorious revolution of Individual Satyagraha and paved the way for the great and gigantic upheaval of 1952-43. This is a tribute to the Satyagrahi freedom fighters of Bhagalpur division for their constructive role in the Satyagraha Movement which holds special significance in the history of freedom movement in India.
