Rule of Oinwara Dynasty in Mithila (1353-1525 A. D.)
After the fall of the Karnata dynasty, the oinwara dynasty ruled over Mithila from 1353 A.D. to 1525 A.D. This was the first Brahmical rule in Mithila. There were 18 kings in this dynasty. The grant of Tirhut by Ferozeshah Tugloq to Kameshwar Thakur, a Brahmin Pandit of karnata dynasty of Oinwara Mool in 1353, which was ended in 1525 by Nasarab Shah of Bengal. The present work attempts to survey in detail the life, condition, culture, polity and administration of Mithila. The nature of society, polity and economy in India is such that historical studies are necessary to be more largely based on regional lines. This is also called the sugauna dyanstry as it was the name of its capital. It charged its capitals eg Sugana, Devakuli, Gajrathpur or Sivasimhapur Bisavi and Rambhadrapur. None of the kings tried to create any memorable socio-economic change not created any historical monument. This age was the age of scholars, literary persons intellectuals. Tantric and Naiyayik. Among them Chandeshwar Thakur, Vidyapati Vachaspati, Shankar, jagdhar Paksbdhar. Umapai t. Mithila's folklore was rich in tradition and folk art attained its perfection. Feudalism was the basis of the rule and feudal structure was apparent. Shiv Singh was the most important king of this dynasty.
